INTERNSHIPS
An essential part of the IDEA Hub is the student internship program which allows students to become involved in research and development projects and pursue solutions. Radlab staff work with and mentor student interns. The result is that these interns learn skills that help them obtain employment upon graduation.
Talented students from diverse fields apply and are interviewed for available positions. Based on their interests and the projects available, an intern is assigned to work with a staff member. Although the staff member is a mentor, learning occurs in both directions.
Interns can work on real-world challenges and collaborate to develop innovative solutions. The skills interns learn during their Radlab employment provide them with advantages for employment at graduation, including three interns hired by Creighton IT. Since 2014, the IDEA Hub has employed 71 colleges and 22 high school interns. Four high school interns remained working in the Radlab as college interns. Six of our interns have continued to graduate school, including two in Ph.D. programs. Thirty-one of our former interns are employed in technology-based positions.
